Commissions is where you set up how salespeople earn commission, track the commission events that result from won work, and see what you still owe. It connects your sales results to payroll, so earned commissions flow through to paychecks.
Where to find Commissions
From the left sidebar choose HR & Payroll, then Commissions.

The page has three tabs: Plans, Events, and Liability.
Plans
The commission plans themselves — the rules that say who earns what. Each plan shows its Plan Name (often describing the formula, e.g. "Standard Sales Commission — 2.5% of Contract Value"), the Salesperson it applies to, and the related Project. Plans can be percentage-of-contract, percentage-of-revenue, residuals, or flat spiffs.
Events
The commission events ledger — the individual amounts earned as work is won and progresses. Each event ties a plan to a result, so you have a running record of what's been earned.
Liability
The outstanding-liability rollup — what you owe in commissions that hasn't been paid yet. A quick read on your commission obligations.
Setting up commissions
Create a plan on the Plans tab — name it, attach the salesperson (and project where relevant), and define the rate or formula. As work is won, events accrue against the plan, and the liability rollup keeps a running total of what's owed. Use Include Archived to show retired plans.
How Commissions connect to the rest of the app
- Sales Pipeline. Commission plans attach to salespeople and the deals they win — see Sales Pipeline.
- Payroll. Earned commission events feed into payroll so they're paid out — often on a Commission payroll type.
