Project Types let you classify the kind of work your organisation does — for example, Lawn Maintenance, Landscape Installation, or Hardscape. Once created, each project can be assigned a type so you can group, filter, and report by category.

Where to Find Project Types

Project Types are managed under Settings > Business Unit Settings. In the left-hand settings sidebar, click Project Types under the Organization section.

Navigation path: Dashboard → Settings → Business Unit Settings → Project Types

Editing a Project Type

Click the pencil icon in the Actions column. The dialog opens pre-filled with the current values. Make your changes and click Update Project Type.

Note: Changing a Display Value updates it everywhere the type is already assigned.

Deleting a Project Type

Click the trash icon in the Actions column. If this type is assigned to existing projects, consider leaving it in place to preserve reporting history.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Keep Display Values descriptive but concise — they appear in dropdowns throughout the app.
  • Use Notes to explain the scope of each type so your team applies them consistently.
  • Review existing types before adding new ones to avoid duplicates.
