Profit Centers are financial groupings that represent distinct revenue or cost centers within your business — such as service lines, departments, or divisions. They help you track profitability, allocate costs, and run financial reports by business segment. Profit Centers can be organized into a hierarchy using parent-child relationships.
Where to Find Profit Centers
Profit Centers are managed under Settings > Business Unit Settings. In the left-hand settings sidebar, click Profit Centers under the Organization section.
Navigation path: Dashboard → Settings → Business Unit Settings → Profit Centers

Tips & Best Practices
- Use consistent codes (e.g., "RES", "COM", "SVC") so team members can quickly identify profit centers in reports and dropdowns.
- Set up a hierarchy using the Parent field to group related business lines. For example, "Services" as a parent with "Installation" and "Maintenance" as children.
- Archive rather than delete profit centers that are no longer in use. Archived profit centers are hidden from selection dropdowns but their historical data is preserved.
- Use Display Order to control the sequence in dropdowns and lists — this helps users find the most common profit centers quickly.
